OUR STORY

“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its flavour, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13 – 16

Two principles highlighted in this passage guide CityHill Foundation:

    • Practically bringing light into darkness
    • Good works, resulting in God being glorified

CityHill was formed out of a revelation of urban communities filled with much hurt and brokenness, including loneliness, suffering, injustice, hate, selfishness, fatherlessness, motherlessness, hard-heartedness, drunkenness, addictions, unseeing eyes, darkness, evil, misunderstanding, depression, hopelessness, sickness, no dignity, and so much more.

Our belief is that communities are really needing the Gospel, for God to shine His light in their areas of brokenness and hurt.

As the Gospel manifests itself communities can be redeemed, and increasingly these healed communities can then reflect joy, healed families, love, praise, healed hearts, fun, destiny and purpose achievement, fulfilment, peace, love, hope, justice, dignity, respect, a future, Gospel living, fatherhood, motherhood, and more. Our further belief is that as we are obedient to God’s work in us, we can be His hands and feet. Our obedience can be practically worked out through providing various redeeming activities and service.

Our humble hope is that, through this, God can be glorified.
