Says Mrs Ali Mela-James, head of department at Craighall Primary:
“The OT equipment was and is still invaluable. It made such a difference to so many children, it allowed them to feel the benefits of using high quality equipment. We purchased pencil grips, wobble cushion, slant boards and gym balls that we used for chairs. We were able to spread them out amongst the grade 1s and use them to teach the children to sit properly and hold their pencils correctly. It really helped the kids who just needed a bit of guidance and direction instead of sending them for a whole course of OT or physio.”
Omphile Morweng is an impressive young man with enormous potential. In order to move towards his potential Omphile felt it important that he attend Parktown Boys High School as a boarder. The CityHill Foundation made this dream come true, and is committed to covering his boarding fees until he graduates from Grade 12 in 2024.
In Omphile’s words:
The CityHill Foundation really means a lot to me cause it helped me achieve my needs for the rest of my high school career. There was many times in my life were my mom and I were struggling and I knew I had to work hard for what I wanted. I’ve received a rugby scholarship to Parktown Boys and at the same time I wanted to be in the Boarding house cause I knew it was going help me a lot and I get good accommodation and Mom wouldn’t have to stress about me. But the problem was that we weren’t fortunate enough and that’s where the CityHill Foundation came in and save my life and to this day I’m so blessed and thankful to them. Cause this made a big impact in my life it’s going to help finish my school career. Thank you so much to the Cityhill foundation.
